Part of every MISTA conference is a social day. This year was no exception.
We had a long (09:00 to 20:00) but very enjoyable and informative day that took in Ypres and a local chocolate factory. Of course, this region is steeped in history surrounding the First World War. As well as being very informative, the day does bring home the many sacrifices made and insanity of war. For me, it was the fact that we were standing on a battle ground where unspeakable horrors had unfolded and now it is a normal suburb where normal, every day life carries on.
